You bid me go
I am wicked,
The people among whom I live are also wicked
I cried
But still
You bid me go
You bid me go
I am a youth, Lord
I know not how to speak
I cried
But still
You bid me go
You bid me go
The people whom you want me to go to have already rejected me
They will surely not listen to me when I speak
I cried
But still
You bid me go
You bid me go
I am not the person for a job like that
No, I am not the person for a job like that
I cried
But still
You bid me go
You bid me go
If I go to the people … they will ask “Which God are you talking about?
What shall I tell them?
I cried
But still
You bid me go
You bid me go
They won’t believe me
They won’t do what I tell them to
I cried
But still
You bid me go
You bid me go
I’m just not a good speaker
I have never been, and I’m not now, even after you have spoken to me
I cried
But still
You bid me go
You bid me go
Lord please!
Send someone else
I cried
But still
You bid me go
You bid me go
If the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us?
And where are all the wonders our ancestors have told us about?
I cried
But still
You bid me go
You bid me go
But this is impossible!
I am old now and my wife is well on in years
I cried
But still
You bid me go
You bid me go
I am the Lord’s servant and I am willing to do whatever he wants
May everything you have said come true
I said
And I went

Seven Benefits that await Dreamers that Pursue their Dreams
“The bottom line is execution.” I’ve stumbled across
this phrase a number of times but never really thought
about it until quit recently. In my scrutiny of this
phrase one of the truths that I came to understand is
that a man can dream a thousand great dreams but
unless he pursues them to completion he will gain
nothing from his dreams.
So, let’s say you pursue your dream, what do you
stand to gain?
At least seven things:
Benefit #1: Dreamers stay alive despite
the limitations of their circumstances
Dreams empower people. Dreamers find it easy and
a joy to serve others even if they are right at the
bottom of their ladders to success. Their dreams tell
them, “Though you are down here today, tomorrow
you will be on a much higher plain. Just stay put.”
Benefit #2: Dreamers move out of the
limitations of their circumstances
You may find a dreamer stationed at one place for a
very long time, but this does not necessarily mean
that nothing is happening in their lives. In most cases
a lot of the “behind the scene” work is taking place
during this time. Equipping, training and grooming
are also taking place during this time. At the end of
the day, we see dreamers rise above the limitations of
their circumstances as they take themselves to a
better place – one step at a time.
Benefit #3: Dreamers live a life that is full
of purpose and fulfillment
Purpose is your reason for living. Fulfillment is the
satisfaction that you derive each time you take a step
towards your purpose. In addition to bringing clarity
to your purpose, dreams allow you to enjoy the
journey to your purpose.
Benefit #4: Dreamers come up with
solutions to life’s problems
Problem solving is the heartbeat of dreaming. If any
dream is to be regarded as worthwhile, it should have
solve or contribute towards the solving of a problem.
Whichever way you look at it, dreamers are WORLD
CHANGERS, i.e. solution thinkers or problem solvers.
Benefit #5: Dreamers make a lasting
impact on lives
The dreamer’s success is rarely his alone. In most
cases it is something that is celebrated by his family,
relatives, friends, those around him and, at times,
those beyond. What is more, these people may live
to remember and be forever indebted to the dreamer if
the success of his dream has significantly affected
them and their way of living.
Benefit #6: Dreamers are easy to elevate
A dream is one of the many age-old secrets of
success. A man without a dream has very little to
bring him into the limelight. On the other hand, the
man with a dream is brought into the limelight by his
dream. Once he is in the limelight, the dreamer is
thought of each time there is an opportunity that can
be of assistance to the dreamer in achieving his
dream.
Benefit #7: Dreamers make history
Wanna make history? Dream. Dreamers are those
that live to be remembered. If not for their contribution
to the world, then for their brevity in trying to do
something. Whichever way, they live to be
remembered.
Do you want to survive and move out of the
limitations of their circumstances? Do you want to live
a life that is full of purpose and fulfillment? Do you
want to come up with solutions to life’s problems? Do
you want to make a lasting impact on other people’s
lives? Do you want to make history?
If your answer is YES… then you want to be a
dreamer that pursues their dreams.

Exploring a different facet of your talent
Over the past two weeks, I’ve been working on a project on the African Child. This has seen me trying different genres of writing. I am trying to turn PowerPoint presentation handouts into material that will eventually be posted onto the internet.
I could have just copied what is written in these handouts and pasted it onto a webpage. My task would have been done in a day. But, I didn’t do that. No, I didn’t do that. I gave myself the challenge of trying to present this information in the way that both informs and entertains the reader.
The task has not been easy… Using the information that is on the handouts, I have begun to write short stories. These short stories contain and illustrate the information taken from the handouts. It is not an easy task: it demands a lot of attention, creativity and skill.
Yes, it’s been hard work... But I love it!
It has given me an opportunity to explore a different facet of my talent: I get to discover how to plot a story from scratch; I get to create spoken and silent conversation among the characters in my stories; I get to paint pictures in my readers’ mind using my pen; I get to raise my readers’ suspense, to entertain them, to educate them and to thrill them. I get to do so much more!
It is not much of a big deal for me to write another poem. Nor is it to write another newsletter on a Friday. Nor is it to write another one of the periodical reports at work. But to write a short story which aligns itself to a factual article is nothing routine. It is something out of the ordinary.
As we come to the closing of this week’s article, I want to encourage you to explore a different facet of your talent and see how far it takes you. Be Inspired.

89 Days To Go: It’s Time You Put Your House In Order
Since 2002, I’ve made it a habit to finish the year by writing down all the things that I wanted to achieve in the coming year, an exercise known as goal-setting.
I did the same last year and came up with eight mega goals: Big Hair-raising Audacious Goal (BHAGs). Of these goals, two I’ve achieved and the rest are still work in progress.
However, the likelihood of accomplishing all my goals remains in the balance as we are now close to year end: There are only 89 days left between now and December 31st.
What am I going to do? I’m glad you asked. Here’s what I’m going to do:
1. First, get a grip of myself
I need not panic. The year is not yet over. There are still 89 days to go. And who knows what God will do between now and December 31st. It’s a lie that if I do not accomplish all my dreams I’m a failure. I only need to stay cool.
2. Second, review progress on each of my goals
I don’t know about you but I think two out of eight is pretty good. Especially when I consider that I am making progress on the other six. Now, what I am going to do is look at each of these goals in order to ascertain where exactly I am towards the achievement of each of my goals and how much further I need to go in order to achieve my goals. I am also going to look at what could be or can be hindering me from achieving these goals.
3. Third, chart out a plan of action
I am going to identify and commit myself to the actions that I need to take to achieve my goals. If I see that the effort that I need in order to achieve all of them is too much I am going to either extend the deadline to some of them or put some of them off for next year. (Avoid outside pressure to perform.)
4. Fourth, take action
I am going to do those things that I would have committed myself to do on step 3.
As the year draws to an end some of us may feel a little agitated at the progress that we have made towards the attainment of our goals. I write to tell you that the year is not yet over. There are still 89 days to December 31st and until then you have enough time to put your house in order. Even if you know you do no accomplish everything that you had on your original goal list. Guess what? You need not feel bad about yourself. You can carry over some of these goals to next year.
Be Inspired.
